Sam Ellicott

I had the privilege to be a member of the choir at the Billy Graham Crusade at Harringay Arena, London in the 1950s. I will never forget the way Cliff Barrows conducted and led the choir to sing with all our might. I can still remember the thrill of singing with a thousand other voices which made every hair on the back of my neck stand up, and we were all mesmerised by Cliff’s charismatic leadership. This, when combined with the singing of George Beverly Shea and the preaching of Billy Graham, has remained in my memory for the last 60 years, and I feel enormously privileged and proud to have performed in the presence of three undoubtedly men of God. RIP Cliff.
