I have loved and admired Cliff Barrows since I was a young child. When Billy Graham held a Crusade in Greensboro, N.C., I was 10 years old. My father was a local pastor and my mother sang in his choir. I sat on the front row every night looking up on the stage of a bigger than life, good looking young man leading us in “Blessed Assurance.” I was there every night as long as the Crusade lasted. One of my life’s desires was to sing in one of his choirs but I never had that opportunity. I know, though, that in heaven, I will be singing praises to our Lord under Cliff’s direction. It can be no one else. I mourn with his family over their being separated for a while but rejoice that we will all see him again one day and rejoice with him around God’s throne singing our hearts out. His family is in my thoughts and prayers as well as Rev. Graham who I know will miss his presence. Thank you, God, for the joy of Cliff Barrows’ music.
